many months passed after the war on glacis came to a close... and almost a year since skye's last seen that dimension-hopping man. after that departure, she was back to working alone for most of the time left on that icy planet - something she already grew accustomed to. even though she grew numb to that ache of losing someone all over again, it still stung.
but there was a noticeable difference between the current version of her and the one on glacis. she managed to come to terms with her loss, and after a thorough soul-searching, found a new reason to push forward. besides... dwelling on the past would've very well been the death of her.
despite having every reason to step away from the fixer network, she refused. this was where she wanted to be all along. hell, she took part in lower risk operations with rookie squads, maybe teach them a thing or two about not losing their heads. there was this feeling that filled her heart whenever she saw them goofing off during downtime and overall having a good time. hard to think that was her all back when she first joined.
nowadays, she became more of a permanent resident at the anvil, still preferring the comfort of the nightowl rather than a quarter on ironside. she'd often hang around the docking bay, around her ship, treating the extended ramp more like a front lawn, regardless if she was tinkering, or in the rarer cases, laze around. it was another slow day, but for the first time, it felt like the universe finally had some patience with the cyanette.

@-sparrowcall The anomaly smiled, his right hand stretched to the feline, allowing it to smell his hand before deciding if it wanted scritches or not. << "Done? With Glacis? Haha, no mon petite moineau. I was recalled for new tasks and now I've got some new tasks here." >> The entity had a smile on his face, a genuine smile. The cyanette was still the same as in the past, for sure she was a bit more mature and level headed but it was still her. Spook moved himself next to Skye to sit atop a standalone crate, propping his rifle with the butt on the ground and securing his handgun safely on his leg. << "So, what has life been throwing at you since my disappearance? Any new challenges or tricks up your sleeves?" >> Spook was interested to say the least, Skye reminded him of some of his comrades back home and even to some of the pupils he had over the many lives he has gone through. The entity took out a smoke and turned his attention to the lighter in the fixers hand: << "Mind if I ask for a light?" >>

// bruh i didn't even see it in the notifs- :pain: try to @ me next time mate-
on the stack of crates a pair of legs were dangling over the edge of the crate, they belonged to skye, who was actually laying down on top of one of those crates. she was staring at the ceiling as she was already halfway done with her smoke. today was... uneventful, to say the least. not much to do and not that many places to go. not exactly her style, but she can find solace in the fact that she has the opportunity to finally take a breath. that's one of the perks of being a free woman.
and it seemed like she wasn't alone in that endeavor. a furried friend rested on its side, at the corner of the same crate, with a view of the rest of the sector, and watching the dozens of staff members and fixers roaming around the station, all with that look of indifference on his face. to the ash-grey tabby, they were like ants to him. and then, spook came in the feline's view. his eyes now fixated on the anomaly. no matter how sneaky spook might try to be, this cat wasn't going to let this /interloper/ out of its sights. as he was heading behind the crates, it got up on its paws and began to follow the direction, even stepping on skye's abdomen to maintain its mission, resulting in a small wince from the fixer. however, that sudden reaction then made skye to finally sit up and see what got the cat worked up about, clenching the ornate lighter in her hand in case she needed to teach whoever wanted to sneak up on her a lesson. and then, it hit her.
that somewhat tense posture began to ease up after recognizing the anomaly. it was a mix of emotions: disbelief, confusion, and surprise... though it all boiled down into that unsure look in her eyes. « the fuck...? no, that's not... you were done with glacis. how...? » she murmured under her breath, still not convinced that what she was seeing was real.

SHE took a lot from the dimension hopper. 3 rebirths, 5 universes and a dozen of targets. Although Spook wasn't in the exact same flesh and blood as he was some time ago, he was able to secure a more sturdy and longer lasting deal with the goddess he had made the initial deal with.
The entity managed to find his way back to a certain universe that left a long lasting mark on his very being, somewhere where he once left an item that he was now desperate to get back.
He didn't stand out much between all the fixers, seeing as he was dressed in military apparel with his hood over his head and his mask hanging steadily from his left shoulder.
After wandering for some time around the Anvil the anomaly found himself inside the hangar that housed a multitude of ships and craftsmen, the latter either chatting about cargo or mission briefings while others were working on their vessels and weaponry. All but one single cyan haired woman, who was lazily sitting on a stack of metal boxes.
Spook was intrigued to know if this was the same cyanette that had left that same long lasting impression on him, so he decided he was going to test his theory.
He subtly approached the cyanette from behind the crates she was seated on and without mission a beat jumped up the boxes and leaned over until both their eyes were level with each other.
<< "It's been a while mon petit moineau. Hope I didn't make you wait too long." >>
The anomalies red pupils matched the gaze of the cyanettes icy blue eyes, to him they were filled with danger, fear and even some relief. But even still, what Skye was feeling was a total mystery to Spook and that in itself was what made her soo special to him.
