I think the only writing advice that has ever truly stayed with me, is you are not using people's names as much as you think you are. It seems like a lot when you're writing, but it isn't. You don't need to use 'the blond' or 'the taller' every sentence, you can just use their name. It's fine. And i think about that whenever i write and it's right. 

I love how all the comments my friend gets on his fics are so meaningful and thought out and mine ar usually just 'submerge urself in hot sauce and glass' because i killed a character
