I wonder how the story would look like if it was Conan/Shinichi who realizes he liked Haibara/Shiho first instead of other way around. Meanwhile, Haibara remains neutral or somewhat disinterested, but gradually explores her feeling.
So basically, the role switched from
Haibara liking Conan to
Conan liking Haibara
