With an over-active imagination, Gurpreet has always had a passion for film and literature.

As a child, she could often be found re-enacting scenes from her favourite books: swinging on the hammock in her back garden pretending she were in an Enid Blyton story; running through the meadows with Black Beauty; or hiding beneath the table in Erebor with her dwarven friends, the Company of Thorin Oakenshield. Then at night, when it was finally time to sleep, she would be lying awake reimagining her favourite scenes from television shows, films and books, mixing and matching characters and storylines until she got the ending she desired.

Now in her 20s, Gurpreet (who now has a First Class Honours BA in Film and TV and an MA in Creative Writing) works as a children's book author and a freelance writer/proofreader while building a portfolio of screenplays. She's published three books: a solo project, 'Helping Henry Home', and two in a ten book series called Brett Bear ('Brett Bear and the Cheeky Chipmunks' and 'Brett Bear and the Sad Santa'). A third book is being released in 2016. She's also published her dissertation, 'Conformity and Non-Conformity in the Tim Burton Fairytale' (the proceeds of which go towards buying books for Great Ormond Street Hospital) and two feature length screenplays: a psychological thriller and an adaptation of Sarah Rayne's 'The Silence'.

Gurpreet's currently working on her first 'chick lit' novel, young adult novel and the next set of books in the Brett Bear series as well as a screenplay collaboration.
