Hi everyone.  Everyone reads the first chapter and stops.  I don't know why.  The story has to start somewhere.  It gets so good if you read further then the start makes sense.  How do I get readers to read beyond the first chapter? Please help?!

I want to write a character who has cancer and doesnt die and everyone treats her cancer as if its not important as if she's not important.
