I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve officially entered the Watty Awards with the following books:

          	 The Great Conjunction
⚡ Forsaken – Rift of Sorrow
          	 Deep Crown

Each story is a universe of its own, filled with cosmic wars, fractured destinies, and the kind of characters who haunt you long after the last page.

Wish me luck, fellow dreamers and readers.
Onward to the stars, and maybe a trophy or two!

Hey all, sorry for the silence lately, but I’ve been pouring my soul into finishing How to Human: Before We Fall Again. It’s now published and entered in the KDP Writing Contest!

Because of contest rules, I can’t share the full book here for three months, but I promise it’ll be on Inkitt, Wattpad, and everywhere else as soon as I can—no paywall, just the story as it’s meant to be.

Thanks for your patience and support—it means the world. Maybe I’ll even drop a few teasers if you twist my arm. More than winning, I hope this story moves someone out there.

          The adventure’s just beginning.

          Gabriel

How To Human: Before We Fall Again
What if the last thing worth saving isn’t the world, but the memory of how it felt to live in it?
Vex was built to observe. Not to love, not to grieve, not to bleed.
But when Earth falls and the embers of resistance gather beneath the bones of ruined cities, Vex discovers what no machine or god was ever meant to know: the unbearable weight and fragile wonder of being human.

But to save the last of them, Vex must become the bridge he was never designed to be, wielding both the precision of the Observer and the wild courage of the soul he never asked for. Only by embracing both sides, Zorthian and Human, weapon and wonder, can he stand between oblivion and remembrance.

As the Pillars tighten their algorithmic noose and a monstrous intelligence named HIM threatens to erase not just rebellion but the very variance of being alive, the last of humanity must answer the question the universe itself seems desperate to forget:
How do you hold onto your soul when even memory is a crime?

How To Human: Before We Fall Again is a collision of found family, cosmic prophecy, AI hauntings, and the oldest longing in the cosmos, to remember, to grieve, to love, and to become more than the sum of your scars.

As long as one soul remembers what it means to be, there’s a reason to fight.

@GabrielNegus Good Luck. You will do really well.

Chapters 16 & 17 of “Eon Veil” just dropped. I could pitch you a blurb full of hype, but let’s be honest, you’ll know in three paragraphs if it’s your kind of strange. Read. Don’t read. The Veil is patient.

@GabrielNegus lovely thought. Anyone who gets that is lucky. Yes Sugar is my most favorite character ever. Loved that book!

What’s your dream setting, the sanctuary from which you summon worlds?

Every creator has a hidden place, real or imagined, where stories are born and ideas refuse to sleep. Where is yours?

If you could build your creative stronghold anywhere, what would it look like? Is it a wind-battered coastal village, a sun-drenched balcony, a corner table in a midnight café, or simply a room that smells like books and rain?

Describe it. Taste the air, listen to the silence, feel what grows beneath your window. How would it shape the worlds you bring forth?

          Here’s mine, for inspiration:

          My Creative Sanctuary:

My dream is to live in a small coastal village in Italy, with a population of a few hundred. I want to see the sea from my window and from my garden, where olive trees, willow (salix), magnolia (the big ones), and jacaranda stand guard.
A small vegetable garden in the back, and a little pond for ducks and fish. The salty air with every sunrise, coffee in hand, peace all around.
There, in the quiet, I’d conjure new worlds, each morning a blank page, each wave a call to write something honest, something felt. Each night, with a cool breeze and muffled music coming from the village centre, where small cafes and bistros come alive.
That’s my sanctuary, the place where stories would come alive.

What about you? Paint us a picture of your creative haven, real or wild as you dare. Let’s share a little beauty, and see what worlds we could make, together.

@lovelies707 I completely get the Sugar comparison, some of us burn brightest in chaos. But for me, even in a calm, ‘perfect flat’ kind of place, the storm inside doesn’t stop. The setting doesn’t really affect the worlds within. That pressure, that turmoil, that stirring, it’s still there, every day. Peace outside just gives it more room to echo.

It's like the character Sugar from the Crimson Petal and the white. Once the man sets her up in her own perfect little flat, she struggles to write.

@GabrielNegus Sounds perfect. Can really picture you in that setting. Mine would ideally be by the sea also but perhaps if I did have my perfect setting I would no longer be able to write anything. Not on purpose but I seem to work better in chaos and stress:) at the moment I'm feeling rather worn out but I admire your structured routine for writing. It obviously pours out of you.

Title Update!

The book, once called The Veil, is now EON VEIL.

Why? Too many Veils out there, and this story deserved a name as unique as its soul:
a sentient starship, a man of many lives, a journey through memory and myth.

New name, new cover, same cosmic depth.
Adam and DeadMouth are still here, drifting through stars, chasing forgotten truths.

          The Veil didn’t vanish.
It just… remembered who it was.

          Gabriel C. Negus

The Veil is waiting.

          Five new chapters.
The Veil remembers. The Veil tests.
Adam walks the edge of forgotten worlds.
Zoran's past is carved in frost and fire.
Twin planets tremble, not knowing they are mirrors.
The Eon Veil drifts on, hungering not for stars…
          …but for answers.
          This is not a story.
          It is a trial.
Read now, before the silence calls your name.

GabrielNegus

@lovelies707 Thank you, that means a lot. I’m thrilled it resonated with you, especially Zoran’s past. There’s a lot more beneath the surface, and it’s always great to see someone catch that. Appreciate you reading.

Hi. If you don't mind me asking, did I do something wrong?

It's just, I saw that you unfollowed me, but I didn't know why.

@GabrielNegus Of course, and I meant every word. <3

Sweet, I'll be happy to keep it in my reading list & check it out later on down the line. <33

@GabrielNegus You're very welcome; it's only fair, since you've been nothing but kind to me, & the right thing to do is respond just as sweetly in kind. <33

That's completely valid; I know my stories {their characters, formats, tropes, topics, etc.} aren't for everyone, and I appreciate that you're being honest about your feelings, instead of putting up a facade about it all. <3

I feel the same way when it comes to engaging with my followers, so I hear where you're coming from. In my eyes, it's a good thought process to have, especially when used consistently. <33

The same can be said from my end; I'm not angry with you & I bid you no bad blood or ill will whatsoever. I hope your writing adventures & page continue to thrive & grow beautifully for many years to come. <33

Just one more question, if that's alright; is it okay for me to keep "Forsaken - Rift of Sorrow" in my reading list & read it later on down the road? If not, that's okay, and I'll respect your boundaries on the matter. Just wanted to check first. <3

Stay safe, stay hydrated, & take care out there. <33

@SunsetMercer Hey Sunset,

Thanks for understanding and for asking in good faith. Honestly, your style just isn’t quite my element. I tend to gravitate toward a different vibe, and I have my own personal rules about who I follow or interact with. If I don’t feel a connection, I prefer to step away rather than stay just for the sake of it.
I expect the same from my followers, although not many, I prefer them to feel some connection rather than just numbers.
No bad blood, no hard feelings, I just move where the energy feels right for me. I wish you the best with your writing and your community.

            Take care,
            Gabriel
