Hello and happy autumn! I hope you are all doing well!
Today, I come with some bad news: The Greek versions of "Michael and John: A Story of Friendship" and "Psychoburners" will be deleted from Wattpad.
It hurts me to do that, but I have my reasons, which are the following:
- Obviously, most of you don't know Greek, so why read those versions when you can read the English ones?
- Despite Greek being my native language, I've always written in English for more people to read my stories. (I have only written some short stories in Greek first.) So, I'm more attached to my English stories.
- Because I was too lazy to write the Greek versions manually, I just put the English ones into a translator and slightly edited them. Unfortunately, there are still not great, and someone knowing Greek will probably think I don't know the language. Trust me, I do.
- I DID recently decide to edit them so that they don't look like translator books (you must have been notified for the first parts), but one annoying thing about Wattpad is that after an edit, there is a chance some words will stick together (likethis), so you'll have to edit a chapter AGAIN! I have encountered that so many times, and I'm tired of it.
- However, I have the Greek versions saved as Word files and I WILL edit them anyway, because I'm thinking of publishing (or self-publishing if necessary)! So, if I want to keep sending my books in Greek publishers, might as well offer them something good! And of course, it might not be a good idea for them to be online for free if they sold in bookstores, right?
And that's it from my part. I apologize to all of you people who know Greek, I hope you understand my decision. However, I can assure you the English versions aren't going anywhere!
