@Heisisii I see. I’m sure Kinu’s just trying to keep things interesting for the fans of the other girls. Hiyori is cool and all, but she’s no Horikita and just too irrelevant to the plot. Kinu even said he has a hard time writing her character, and that’s why we see so little of her. She could even be expelled sometime soon, for all we know. So I’m really not worried about her at all, or anyone else for that matter, if I’m being honest. 
            
            It’s extremely likely that Horikita and Ayanokouji will end up together by the end. Coming to care for someone because you love them is the most obvious answer to his problem, isn’t it? And I really don’t see how he could end up with anyone other than Horikita. We’ve been getting hints of this outcome from the very beginning, with the smile scene being the most obvious, as you yourself just mentioned.

I don't have an issue with Ayanokouji leaving Horikita's class. Ayanokouji from
            very early on has been investing in the people around them and helping them grow with Horikita being the prime example. Currently Ayanokouji wants to experience that growth he has cultivated and see if he(someone who has been raised to be the perfect human by the white room) can be defeated. That is fine, the plot makes sense and its natural that there exists tension between Ayanokouji and Horikita given how he just kinda left her without saying anything. That's fine but what would really dissapoint me is if somehow Ayanokouji ends up with Hiyori after his relationship with Horikita has been built up so well. I feel as though there's been plenty of signs that indicate Ayanokouji will eventually end up with Horikita(one of them being that she is the first person to make him smile). I'd just be so incredibly dissapointed if he ends of with someone else given how I've become invested in their relationship.
            
            

@Heisisii I wouldn't worry too much about that. Ayanokouji and Horikita have had a close connection since Volume 1, and there’s plenty of foreshadowing throughout the series indicating that this will continue to be the case. We’re simply going through the worst of it at the moment.
            
            The main focus of COTE is character development. While the competition between classes is important, the core of the novels lies in seeing the characters evolve. The most significant growth we are likely to witness will be in Ayanokouji himself as he becomes more human. Everything points to Horikita being the one who will change him, or at least play a significant role in doing that.
            
            Kinu is just dragging things out so the story can keep going for longer. He has about ten more volumes to write for the third year, and if Ayanokouji and Horikita resolve their issues too early, there won’t be much of a story left. Just think about what would happen to the class competition if that occurred. Ayanokouji just transferred out of her class so he could confront her as an adversary. Would he go back then? That would be kinda weird. They still have to face each other in a major special exam at some point.
            
            I believe it’s likely that the current situation will continue until the conclusion of their third year. Even then, many plot points may not be fully resolved by the end, potentially leading us into a post-graduation arc to wrap everything up.

@Heisisii Oh, I definitely do. It’s just a matter of getting back to the right mindset and taking the time to put in the effort. Once I break through the initial struggle, the process should flow more easily, like it usually does.

@Heisisii Don't feel the need to rush yourself. Im sure that if you like the story you are writing the rhythm will come back to you.

@Heisisii Thank you. The issue went away after changing GPUs, so all should be good now. I can at last put this matter to rest and focus on other things, with writing being one of them. That said, I haven't written anything in a month, so I kinda lost the rhythm I had going. Getting back into the habit might take a bit of time.

@RageGamers7 Thank you for your words, and I’m glad you are enjoying it. The release schedule has been somewhat inconsistent because I’m still experiencing issues with my PC, even after reinstalling Windows. It has nothing to do with me losing interest in writing this or anything like that, so rest assured.
            
            To make a long story short, my AMD graphics card is causing my system to black screen every now and then. I was able to get my hands on an NVIDIA GPU for a few days to run some tests, and the issue didn't occur anymore, so I bought a brand-new one. It should arrive tomorrow. Once I get it set up and confirm everything is working properly again, I’ll go back to writing the story.

@AtomDuck5 Yeah, I was afraid a gpu failure might have been the cause of it, or even a ram problem. Luckily, after formatting, the issue appears to be resolved. Well, more accurately, it hasn't returned yet, which likely rules out a hardware malfunction. 
            
            With that out of the way, I’m back to writing the next chapter. The draft is about halfway done, so there's a good chance it'll be released this week.

@AtomDuck5 man a faulty gpu! IN THIS ECONOMY?!! , 
             bruh better pray to your ancestors for their blessings that's its just a software glitch... Lol.

@AtomDuck5 Hey, thanks for checking in. So sorry about the delay, though. I’ve had very little time to work on the story after publishing the last update. And to make matters worse, just a few days ago, my pc’s graphics driver began malfunctioning when running directx 12 applications. I’ve tried troubleshooting and reinstalling it multiple times, but the problem persists. So now I might have to format windows and hope it solves the issue. With all that said, I’m still gonna try to release a chapter by next week. Hopefully, by then, my pc will be fixed.

@AtomDuck5 ohh damn that's awesome lol. Keep at it with your own pace author, and again love the story so far :)

@AtomDuck5 By the end of the week, hopefully. I already have the next two chapters done, and Chapter 19 is well underway.
            
            Initially, they were all meant to be one massive chapter, but I decided it was best to split them. Chapters 17 and 18 alone should be around 30 minutes of reading time each. As for Chapter 19... well, I’d guess it’ll be close to an hour, give or take. It’s still a work in progress, so I can’t be certain yet. 
            
            I haven't released the finished chapters yet for the sake of consistency. I may need to tweak a few details depending on how things unfold in Chapter 19.
