My name is Gavin Zane. I am an aspiring writer from Bear, Delaware, USA. I have always been fascinated by the world of science and the capabilities of mankind through technology and medical advancement. As a musician and songwriter as well, I have always found a sense of freedom in creation and imagination, whether that be in the form of writing and composing music, or constructing deep and vast worlds in which I write my novels. Fiction, specifically Sci-Fi, has always been a point of interest for me, because it I see it as a way to convey emotions and thoughts with a freedom of speech uncensored by oppressive modern propaganda. Sci-fi grounds the realm of fantasy in the plausability of fact, and allows us to immerse ourselves in a form of not-so-far-fetched magic of possibility, wonder, excitement, fear and curiousity. My first novel, "SHIFT: Horizons" is the first part of an epic I have planned, and is an ongoing saga that utilizes real-world events as the foundation for a captivating futuristic tale of survival, evolution, and secrecy.
