‘They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.’
On the 11th hour of the 11th of November, 1918, the Armistice was finally signed, and our beloved ANZACS (Australian and New Zealand Army Corporations) could head home!
They fought for the freedom of us all, and annually, we take a few minutes to commemorate all they did for us. Those who fought, those who cared for the injured, and those who supported the young men who fought for our country.
We wear the poppies on our shirts and dresses in honour of them. When the brutal battles were over, the first flowers to bloom on the scarred fields were poppies, red from the blood of those fallen.
Take a moment, wherever you are in the world, to pay your respects to those who fought for your freedom today.
