Well hello 🙂 I am the author, illustrator and designer Gem Speht.

I used to work as a graphic and web designer before I became disabled a few years ago with an illness called Fibromyalgia and M.E. These illnesses mean I have very little energy and am in pain all day, so I often find myself bedridden a lot, having a laptop in bed to write from on the odd occasion I am feeling up to it is wonderful. 🙂

I am from Leeds, Yorkshire originally but now live in Liverpool in a hippy commune with my two dogs, Billie and Franky and one and a half cats (George the pirate cat has one eye, three legs and no tail)! and Freddy a wild ginger and white kitty.
