okay so if you’ve been here since Through Blood, We Rule and An Iron Weapon (Teaser for 3rd book The Last War)… or stayed with me through The Valkyrie… first of all — thank you. truly. you have no idea how much it means to me that you read, vote, comment, spiral, theorize, and scream with me over fictional men and morally questionable decisions.
those worlds will always be so special to me. the dragons, the courts, the bloodlines, the queens, the war, the heartbreak — twisting stories we all know and love into something darker, deeper, and entirely ours has been one of the most fun creative things I’ve ever done. (Don't worry I'll still be updating and writing them).
but.

this new book is different.
no magic.
no crowns.
no ancient prophecies.
just power.
money.
control.
and a man who runs a city like it’s a chessboard.
and a girl who might not be as soft as she looks.
writing fantasy will always have my heart, but stepping into something more modern, more grounded, more dangerously real has been so much fun for me creatively. i love building these characters from scratch. i love taking tropes and flipping them. i love exploring power dynamics in completely different worlds.
and i especially love doing it with you guys watching every step of the way.
