The Last Stand is done and fully published! On to book 2!
GerithorDunedain
With great pride, I announce that The Last Stand: A Defenders of Middle Earth AU is complete! Yes, 5 years after I first started writing it, it's finally done. I'll be publishing chapters daily (or as close as possible to daily) until the entire thing is published, so keep an eye out!

The new "Last Stand" cover O.O

@GerithorDunedain I noticed that, I'm also trying to focus on describing different senses going through scenes. >.< useful tips!
GerithorDunedain
@JulesForest17 it might be a little primitive but I often use the "five senses" method when describing a scene. Intentionally contemplate each sense as it's happening in the scene and describe them one at a time. Then you can remove/streamline the ones that feel excessive or unnecessary. AI is definitely a mixed bag. I don't like using it for anything except the music really, but I have no musical talent personally so I can't make music myself haha (believe me I've tried)

@GerithorDunedain wow! That's so impressive. I totally get the "movie scene" picture, although I struggle to write the descriptions how I see them. The soundtracks definitely fit well with the themes! When I was listening to them I could hear the stories coming to life. I often listen to LOTR soundtracks anyways when reading that type of book. So this was definitely spot on for your works! Yeah AI can be a nice tool, but the price you often pay is constantly honing and refining the result, which can be time consuming. I can't believe you wrote those songs though! They sounded so good, I definitely enjoyed the lyrics of the song of Caledorn! I wish I had these soundtracks when I reread the books. I'll have to remember to do that next time!

I've released the soundtrack for The Last Stand! It took a lot of work but I'm really happy with it! You don't have to read the book to enjoy it, I went with a Lord of the Rings sound so if you're into that it'd be great background/study music! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPsLP0izskw

Writing fanfiction after a long break is like a breath of fresh air.

@GerithorDunedain okay I didn't believe you at first-- but I finished it and it indeed had a very good ending. ❤️
GerithorDunedain
@JulesForest17 That's high praise! You definitely need to finish it, it's got a happy ending!
lalwenlorien
@GerithorDunedain I'll have to read it then! Although admittedly... I may or may not have stopped reading the very last chapters of defenders of middle earth because I didn't want the book to end... xD
GerithorDunedain
Hey everyone! It's been, quite literally, years since I've really posted anything on here. How's everyone doing?
Cynarr
When the Stars Fall, but it's still online. I meant that despite the cringe, I can't unpublish it XD I worded it weirdly, sorry, hahaha
GerithorDunedain
@Cynarr your stories for the Distant Lands Awards were pretty good! What was your chat room called? You should totally republish it lol
GerithorDunedain
Well that’s a wrap for Rings of Power Season 1! I loved the finale! What’d you guys think?
lalwenlorien
@GerithorDunedain gotcha, we'll see how it goes! and thank you I just recovered some of my old accts, & I found your lastborn book in my library! :)
GerithorDunedain
Despite essentially being dead to the Wattpad world, I will be posting my brief review of the first two episodes of Rings of Power when it releases. What’re everyone’s feelings on it so far? Good? Bad? A bit of both?
Liliana-Lithothiel
@GerithorDunedain I agree! The teasers and trailer so far have barely shown Celebrimbor, not to mention Narvi, but we got a lot of Elrond and Durin IV. @GerithotDunedain @feanorianloki I listened to Bear McCreary for the first time when starting "Foundation" and he is an awesome composer. The soundtracks all have a slightly more fluent and epic feel to them (epic doesn't mean better here) than the LotR ones, but in general they're really good. "This Wandering Day" and "True Creation Requires Sacrifice" are definitely among my favourites, too! Personally, I thought that "Númenor," "Galadriel" and "Browyn and Arondir" were nice, too.
feanorianloki
@GerithorDunedain I had not known him before this (though I had heard his name before), but I have been listening to the Rings of Power soundtrack for the past two weeks and he definitely has earned my admiration, so I certainly will! 'True Creation Requires Sacrifice' definitely has traces of Howard Shore, and it is one of my (many) favourites. Personally, I think there's one point in the Main Titles that screams LotR as well, but that's kind of obvious because that one actually IS Howard Shore.
GerithorDunedain
@Liliana-Lithothiel my big concern so far is that they seem to be replacing the Celebrimbor/Narvi friendship with the Elrond/Durin IV friendship, which will kind fo stunt Celebrimbor’s character development in my opinion.
