I am a contemporary romance author who loves reading and writing about the South (especially Louisiana). Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Happily ever after. I like that. It makes me all googly inside when I hear it.
I like romance. I like knowing everything’s going to be okay in the end. No matter how bad it’s going in the middle of the book, or during the black moment, I have to know that by the end these people are going to be okay. So sue me. I don’t care—it’s just my way of exercising a little bit of control where normally you would have none. Yes I’m talking about open-ended fiction. There’s some great stuff out there, but how many times have you thrown a book against the wall? How many times have you whaled in huge salty bullets so hard your nose closed up and the next day at work all of your colleagues were asking you if everything was okay? How many times have you simply said WTF? I like formulaic fiction. Does it mean I am worth less as a reader than one who reads the works of those who wax lyrical for pages on end with no dialog to be found? No. It doesn’t. I just know what I like. Formulaic romance, which by the way is anything but formulaic, is just my way of obtaining a happily ever after.
If you, like me, have to have HEA then follow and read me. I promise to deliver.
