C. D. Gerard is a 10th  generation American born in Willimantic, Connecticut. She was raised and resided in California till moving to Minnesota in 2009.  She has taught composition and literature throughout Southern California and the Twin Cities.  She has passions for American Revolutionary history,  theatrical musicals, historical fiction and classics, fashion, technology, In-And-Out Burgers, and all dogs, especially Golden Retrievers.  She is the mother of two amazing adult children, and has a brilliant and handsome husband of 23 years.
