Hello everyone and Happy New Years! I just want to explain some things before I go. This year…has really challenged me as a writer and my goals for writing. With being Junior and rapidly approaching my young adulthood I’ve had many questions to answer about what I want to do and who I want to become. So far the answers have all pointed to my writing and even still they’ve been problems. Not finding mentors in writing, not finding time to talk with my English teachers about my passion, and lastly the book I’m working on. Yet, and I’m very happy to say this, I have found a small support system that is helping me reach my goals and making me feel more apart of a community of writers! Joining discord servers, teachers finally having office hours to talk with me, and lastly I was asked to do a poem for my whole school! (What I presented during the Christmas show)! That’s not even the end of it, this year saw my deep dive into marvel comics specifically Jonathan Hickman’s writing of the x-men. Absolutely amazing content you should definitely check out! (Has helped me with this massive book I’m planning on as well). Also watched Gotg vol 3 this year and that marked the first time I’ve cried watching a movie. (I was bawling let me tell you). So this is all to say, even when you have your lowest lows, like going to the hospital or feeling neglected in your craft. (I’ve experienced both this year). In the end it will work out. Time and patience are apart of the course and sometimes they are the course itself. Speaking of such a course, it’s time I got back to my massive book I’ve been working on. Now I don’t want to put any deadlines, but perhaps in the near future the ‘hiatus’ will be removed…. But that’s a story for another day! As is my first experience in the work world with my amazing supervisors and their coworkers. (Very fun experience ). Anyway, I hope this year was good for everyone! Thanks everyone, and take care. See you in the New Years!
