Oh wow, it's coming to the end of the year, huh! This coming week is the last full working week. I wish I could say I would take it slow, but projects are just starting to ramp up!
Anyway, I'm starting to make writing plans for the new year. It does look like it's gonna be a year of shorts and flashes again since there will be a lot of learning to do at work. I am planning to start 2 new shorts collections, one for stories that are set in or inspired by Singapore, and the other for a Star-Trek style sci-fi-fantasy blend. I will also focus on touching up my writing skills. Based on the feedback I've been getting over the past few months (a big thank you to everyone who has done so), it seems my main weakness is writing immersively. I did also notice that my grammar has gotten somewhat sloppy, probably a result of writing while tired and the fact that I'm speaking Singlish again! Hopefully, in the new year, my works will become more immersive and more readable.
And yes! There's 'The Soulless Destiny' which I've promised to finish. Truth be told, I still have no idea how to finish it and I think it needs a major revamp anyway. I think I'm going to plan this story from scratch and see if I can take it on a path that doesn't lead to dead ends or ridiculous character development.
I'll put up more detailed plans after Christmas. But for the last 3 weeks of this year, I'll probably produce two more shorts/flashes and be done. Let's see if I can end this year on a high note!
