I haven’t been on this platform in ages, but thought I’d share my thoughts on Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
SPOILERS IF YOU PLAN TO SEE IT, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Just saw Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire today, and my god was it great. It was exactly what a fan of the Godzilla franchise would enjoy in my opinion, not a lot of human scenes, but enough to progress the wacky plot. The movie opens up with monster scenes and continues to go incredibly strong throughout the film with the fights and monster interactions. The 25 minutes of pure Kong and the other great apes interactions was great. Skar King was absolutely fraudulent though, he was carried by Shimo both figuratively and literally. I’m being serious, Skar King rode Shimo like she was a horse into battle for a bit. Godzilla was so agile that it was crazy, this man was jumping like an NBA Superstar. Kong had incredible development throughout the film too. The film’s plot is all over the place, but it’s mainly a Kong-centered film. It delivers in all the right places if you’re looking for a nonsensical monster brawl. The biggest thing though was that Godzilla was basically just making a cameo in this movie, but in the scenes that you see him, my glorious king was cooking.
All in all, I’d give the movie a solid 8/10 personally as a big fan of the Godzilla franchise, it felt like I was watching a film from the Showa Era of Godzilla again and I loved it. I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re a fan of either Kong, Godzilla or Kaiju movies in general.
And with that, I bid you farewell for another few months until something interesting happens to me again.
