Five-Way Fusion
Five-Way Fusion is a powerful advancement of the Metamoran Fusion Dance created by the Ginyu Force in Dragon Ball Fusions.
Overview
Five-Way Fusion appears to draw from a statement made by Akira Toriyama, in which he states that he thinks it's even possible for a larger number of people to fuse into one.
Much like the base Fusion Dance, fusees perform synchronized movements resembling a dance, converging to a center point in order to fuse into a singular, much more powerful being known as an Ultra Fusion, though the number of fusees is five instead of just two. The gender and race of the Ultra Fusion matches the individual who first initiates the dance (ex. Gine initiating a female Saiyan Ultra Fusion, Piccolo initiating a male Namekian Ultra Fusion). Five-Way Fusion appears to be a more extreme version of the original dance, as the fusion time is only several seconds, but the resulting Ultra Fusion wields an astonishing level of strength, typically much greater than a normal fusion.
In Fusions, Five-Way Fusion is taught to Tekka's team by the Ginyu Force, who invented it prior to the Tournament, and as thanks, Trunks and Goten teach them the Fusion Dance. They later teach it to Frieza, who used it in his alliance with Cell to trick Pinich into forming the villainous Ultra Pinich.
Within the game's battle format, the ability to use Five-Way Fusion is represented by the Ultra Gauge, with only half of the gauge necessary to perform the dance. Upon activating, the player has a limited time to deal as much damage to the opponents as possible by using melee rush attacks and ki blasts before unleashing a final attack right before defusal. Teammates who were defeated before the Five-Way Fusion will be revived in order to participate in the dance and remain active upon defusing, making the Five-Way Fusion a very strong mechanic for using an all-out attack and increasing survivability.
