Hi, I wanted to ask you something.
I saw you wrote a Tarzan book that gets a lot of reads.
I’m working on a Tarzan book myself, and I was wondering if you have any tips for me to get more reads

@word_traveler "but the majority of the story is the same."- I meant to end it with "...story is original". Sorry

@word_traveler Hi! I'm so sorry I didn't see your message until now! I'd love to get you some tips. I checked out your profile and only see one work from last year, so I'm assuming that you haven't posted anything yet. While I can't say for sure that these things worked, they were conscious decisions I made. 1) Simular character situations- I don't know if your work is fanfic or original, but I liked the idea of a Steve x Tarzan!Reader because they would mirror eachother. Steve was taken from his "element" (time) and thrown into a completely new world he didn't know about. While there is a bit more build-up with the reader, she was in the sme position, giving the reader a basic core experience that paid off later. Character arms that mirror eachother was something I aimed for that I think added to the story. 2) Tags/Title- People like to judge by forst glance, so make it easy. My Tags leaned more towards Marvel, because that's what the core or eye catcher would be, but I think I tried some Tarzan-like tags as well. The title, however, is lyrics from "Two Worlds, One Family", telling the audience what the story is about. 3) Actual writing- This is PURELY my writing style, but I like to have a few key scenes from the inspiration source and then build an original story around that. Some fanfics just place characters in the same positions with the same story, or a "True AU". I love these, but it's not my style. I've noticed that my way works, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I also feel like it makes it more unique and memorable, like my fic has something that others won't. For example, I have the "Tarzan Meets Jane" scene and "John sees Pocahontas" scene (and a few others), but the majority of the story is the same. I probably did more, but I can't remember cause it's from last year, but I hope this helps a little! Have a great day!
