Hey just a question but is Salem gonna be the final antagonist in TSFH or is it gonna be someone original?
@GornroX like 90% of rwby fanfics have slaem as a villan so I just wanted something new but salem is still a great antagonist just wanted some variety

@HollowedPrince That is literally what it felt like with my stories and its why I died out for a while haha...
I write for myself first and foremost but ngl it does get me down a bit when a piece doesn't get much in the way of attention.
I throw it out to people so they can view my work. I don't even ask for them to enjoy or validate it just see it. That said, it still clearly weighs on me as I've spoken about before.
I feel hypocritical sometimes whenever I worry about how a new chapter is gonna do or how the people who've invested their time into watching my work feel.
I don't believe myself beholden to anyone but myself and these works are made for my enjoyment but I constantly get hit with feelings that bog me down cuz I get in my own head and worry about how people will react.
@GornroX True. On top of that, it can be a double edged sword at times too. If you share and it becomes poplar and well liked, that’s great! But now people would be asking for updates and the like and it kinda takes away from the fun of writing and makes it feel like a chore.
@HollowedPrince Its just the act of sharing it with others. Even if you do it for yourself you're putting it out for others to look to. You open yourself up and unintentionally become expectant or worry about what's next. It sucks ass but it is what it is

And every time I am tempted to write out my own version just to one up them because GOD they're all so terrible and are huge character assassinations!
Legit only one I semi liked was one where it was explained that Salem made a specialized Grimm to heighten negative emotion in the Rose/Xiao Long household. Even then it was stupid because the MC was unaffected and for some reason there was no pay off to that! You'd think she'd want to do it to force the MC to her side but there's 0 follow through.

@GornroX I don’t understand why people like it. It’s so old and it’s a terrible fanfic pick to write about and even if someone did write there are little to none who execute it good people need to be more original instead of copying the same boring and terrible story template and come up with something new.
