This is a political post but it's too important not to share. Please watch this video if you get the time to do so: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSbKJ3yFJZo

Under Project 2025, romance writers (including the ones here on Wattpad) will be at risk of arrest for creation and distribution of porn, just for writing books with on-page sex scenes. They will be charged with a felony and sentenced to 10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine for each book they have written. Librarians will also be at risk for distribution of porn. Romance readers will be at risk for possession.

There is already a proposed bill for this in Oklahoma. What makes this important is that it is a test run to see what the government can get away with at the national level. It exists to set a precedent.
I want to state right here that I refuse to comply in advance. Like this bill, complying in advance sets a precedent by showing our fascist (yes, fascist) government what they can get away with.

          	I will never comply.

I will do everything in my power to continue writing my stories and sharing them with all of you. But those of you outside of the United States need to know that I and other American writers on here are at risk. I am doubly at risk because of my line of work. (I'm not a librarian, but I don't think Trump's brown shirts will care.)

Those who voted for Trump voted for this. That needs to be made clear. Even if they were voting because of issues like cheaper eggs or deportation of immigrants, they still voted for this too. Trump lied about not being connected to Project 2025 the entire time.

But I'm here. I'm not going anywhere. And I will never stop writing.

(Reposting because I changed the wording and added a detail.)

Term starts today. I’m going to be fairly busy between now and the end of March. I’ve already completed The Vampire’s Bride, so there will still be updates, but as far as R4R or responding to comments, I may not get to it right away. Thanks for your patience :)
