Hello! My name is Grace Harwood and I was born in Manchester and grew up in Cheshire. I have been employed variously as a secretary, groom, barmaid, and shop assistant before studying at the University of Sheffield from 1995. I graduated from University in 1998 with a first class degree in English Literature. Armed with this qualification I was soon snapped up by the call centre industry. Blind Ambition (my first novel) was written for the most part during Saturday afternoon racing in between fielding calls in the Sheffield branch of the William Hill call centre. In 2009, the novel won an Arts Council England sponsored competition for free editorial advice from “The Literary Consultancy”. I was also shortlisted into the top five for one of my other works in the Legend Press sponsored “Tale of Two Halves” competition. My entry (which was kind of Victorian Style epistolary fiction for the Twilight Generation) was judged "the most readable" and "entertaining" of all the entries. Sadly, it turned out there was no actual prize. Blind Ambition is a very entertaining romance and is still available from all good charity shops everywhere. It's also available here - on Wattpadd - free of charge!
