My name is Mark Labencki. I write horror, dark fiction and surreal stories. I've always liked horror. Part of it is feeling "terror" while being safe. Good horror is great art. Manufacturing suspense to the degree that someone feels the protagonist's fear is expert execution.

I write because when I'm deeply involved, I forget that's it day or night. I can't tell you the time or date. I get lost and its perfect. It builds connection. It's a purpose. Once you have purpose, most of life's crap melts away. I subscribe to Charles Bukowski's dictum: Find what you love and let it kill you.
