`` you okay ? `` the man asked , checking on grogu after their latest hunt . gently picking him up .

din was still when that small hand touched his helmet . for a moment , he didn't say anything . just rested one gloved hand against grogu's back , feeling the last of the tension leave the kid's body .
his thumb brushed a slow circle between grogu's shoulders . The grip on his chest plate didn't go unnoticed either . din shifted him a little higher against his side , making it clear he wasn't going anywhere .
`` you don't have to hold on so tight .``
a beat .
`` you will anyway .``
there was the faintest hint of amusement beneath the roughness of his voice . din glanced down at the tiny green hand still planted stubbornly against his armor .
`` youre tired .``
not a question . he adjusted his hold again , secure and practiced after years of carrying him across half the galaxy .
`` i've got you kid . ``

✧【 @loyalmando 】✧ Grogu didn’t answer in words. He never did. But the moment Din’s arms lifted him, the tension in his tiny frame melted away—like the galaxy had finally stopped shaking for a second. His ears twitched once. Then settled. A soft, quiet coo slipped out as he was pulled close to the familiar weight of beskar and warmth beneath it. Small fingers immediately reached for the edge of Din’s chest plate, gripping it like an anchor he didn’t realise he needed. When Din asked again—checking, softer this time—Grogu tilted his head up slowly. Those wide, dark eyes scanned the visor. A pause. Then he lifted one hand… and pressed it gently against the Mandalorian’s helmet. Not a signal. Not Force. Just contact. I’m here. A beat later, he leaned forward slightly in Din’s arms, settling in with a tired exhale that sounded far too heavy for something so small. No distress. No fear. Just safe. And stubbornly refusing to be put down.
