It was Katsuki who started it.
He'd call. Randomly.
It was nice. Izuku felts high on the clouds. He liked the unplanned calls or the spontaneous messages.
He'd think, "Ah kaachan is thinking about me."
Such a delicate little thing it is. Love, that is. It spins and spins and spins and traps you in it, like a spiderweb.
Izuku is the fly, the web is Katsuki and the spider... well Izuku likes to think that the spider is love.
He indulges himself in it. So much so that he starts too.
He starts to call and message.
The warmth blooms in his chest. It spreads through his veins and heats his blood when he sees Katsuki's face pop up on the screen. Or when his name lights up his phone.
But, like a spider building it's web, although it takes a while to build, it finishes eventually. And when it does, Izuku feels the web dig into his neck.
He feels the sticky, silky web around his hands and feet when Katsuki no longer picks up.
He feels it choking him when his screen doesn't light up.
It wraps around his heart, and his body seizes when he squeezes too tightly.
He's just busy, he thinks, I just need some reassurance.
And something comes, but instead of reassurance, Izuku stares at the eight eyed spider that looms over him as he hears-
"Yeah, I hung up. It's just fucking Deku, no one important. He's always calling, can't believe he hasn't taken the fucking hint."
