I left home at fourteen to study at the School of American Ballet in New York City. I've since performed with San Francisco Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and many others. These days I prefer dance styles that don't require shoes (African, Modern, 5Rhythms), although I especially love salsa dancing (which requires heels, but I'm okay with that).

Author of the Indigo Ballet Series, YA coming-of-age novels set in the ballet world.

Husband says I wear too much black. However, I have a propensity for brightly-colored nails (most often a shade of blue).

When I'm not writing or dancing I'm off exploring magical places with my family, deeply engrossed in a crochet, knitting, mosaic, or other creative project, or attempting to develop a green thumb.

Yoga and meditation keep me sane. My ultimate goal: steady contentment.
