I'm unpublishing my story so I can edit the chapters and then re-publish them. I'm trying to be less wordy. So far I've removed one chapter, so it's all going to be offset by at least one. Don't worry, the titles of the chapters should help you know where you left off. No drastic changes, just cleaning up the structure and getting rid of fillers.

Time has flown! I realize I released the latest chapter on Easter (oops), so I’m sure it was easy to miss. The following chapter is also already done, but I’m trying to force myself to wait until a week has passed to upload it. Gotta keep some kind of reasonable pacing!

I’m looking forward to any feedback ya’ll want to offer me. I’ve realized that if this were a printed book, it’d be well over 200 pages by now. Is that too slow of a slow burn? What could I cut out?

Maybe if I think of it more like the comic it once was, then I can get an idea of how fast things should move. Drawing takes a lot of time after all, so if it wasn’t important enough to draw then it probably wasnt important enough to write. Thinking I could easily get rid of chapter 2, here. Maybe 10 & 16, also. Idk, what do you think?

Y’all ever take a step back from the internet as a whole and realize life feels less stressful without it?

I went on a small trip in the middle of February to visit family and see some sights, and I just…didn’t get back on social media as much afterward.

It feels both rewarding and sad though because I often find that success is tied to the internet. I can’t sell a painting without advertising online in one way or another. I won’t find readers if I stop posting new chapters (chapters which I’m now taking more time with and trying not to stress over).

But it’s so nice not being inundated with people fighting over lifestyle choices that don’t harm others. It’s freeing to not see how much hate is out there in our hearts, splattered over our FYP’s.

That’s kind of where I’m at right now. I’m still thinking of my story, still tweaking it here and there when I have inspiration, but I also just want to paint again. I haven’t painted in months. Or drawn, really. I also want to enjoy the outside—nature—before it is taken down to complete ruin.

I just want to experience the world in front of me.

Hey ya'll! Forgive me for my sudden inconsistencies with uploading. I both got distracted with stuff and also hit a bit of a slump. I'm nearly caught up to what I've already pre-written, and it's making me super nervous! I definitely don't want to be writing a chapter weekly...especially if it hasn't "come to me" quite yet. I even sat down and tried to write out a timeline or outline, and I got stuck where I am now in my files and where I plan to go. Just a big empty chunk of mystery...

I don't mind time jumps necessarily...but what do you guys think of them? What contexts do you prefer major leaps or not?

Happy new year everyone! This year i plan to finish the book which means not only adding more chapters but also refining and condensing existing chapters. It’s still a slow burn of course but maybe it could use a little boost

What goals have you set for yourself this new year?

@Griffynx Instead of a plan, I went in with a big stack of earlier prototype novels based on the exact same concept, and a few ideas about how to make it better this time. But the actual ending, yeah, that's a mystery to me too and I totally respect you not having an end planned out either! It's more fun that way :)

@AmandaTheNudist that’s fair, I don’t exactly have a plan either which I know isn’t smart and i always tell other writers to avoid going in blind… but my story outline ends soon without any actual ending haha.

@Griffynx Not a bad idea! I mean I think it's great the way it is, but from what I've heard a professional editor is something that one of things that no good book can do without. And I think this one deserves that final touch :)

You're also right that I'm almost finished, but that's more of a gut feeling I have than any sort of actual plan! It just seems like it's about time to start wrapping up the romantic arc before the central premise gets too stale... there are only so many ways I can keep changing it up and raising the stakes after all :)

Hi! I hope you're doing well. I was wondering if you could give a shot at my urban fantasy romance: The Courage of Stars. It'd mean a lot to me.

Thank you for your time in advance.
