            The god stepped closer. One of the ravens swooping down to perch on his shoulder, as if it smelled the drama and wanted to witness the spectacle. Its head turned to give one eye free roam over Loki before it let out a deep croak. Odin did not seem to mind the creature as all his focus was on Loki. Every step exuded his power over Asgard. His expression stern, but not quite mad just yet.

            "So your definition is that if there is no death, then it is harmless... There are far worse things than dying, son." He closely watched the trickster god. Scrutinizing every shift in posture with his one fiery eye. "You had nearly started a war. You could be glad my tongue can be as fast as yours on occasion. The amount of anguish it caused, the time wasted, the alliances that were decades in the making now cracked... The damage you have caused for 'a little harmless fun', It's..." He froze then sighed deeply, the words to describe his disappointment completely alluded him. He lowered his head and pinched the bridge of his nose between two fingers. His eye shut as he attempted to process the words. "What am I to do with you?" His voice barely above a whisper to hide the anger welling in his body, only given away by how tightly he was squeezing his gifted spear. He barely registered the squawk on his shoulder.

                though he had entered this exchange with every intention to remain courteous, bitter ire was swift to settle over lokis shoulders, which dropped with its weight. he dared to think that even if it was the ravens, they were despicable vermin who ought to be shot down where they perched. although he did not speak the notion, the smirk tugging at his lips told it for him; only once he met his fathers eyes did he hurriedly lower his head, adopting the practiced facade of contrition, and concealing his expression from odins sight.

                he seemed to contemplate for some time the specifications of his words,  lashes lowered in thought.  the toe of his boot kicked at the floor.  demure.  yielding.  then his answer came,  a mutter barely discernible in the vast expanse of the throne room;
                ` nobody has died, father. what harm is there to speak of, really? `

"Harmless?"

            The All-father let the word hang in the air.

            "I do not need someone to tell me when the ravens are my ears, Loki." Odin slammed his spear on the floor, letting the sound echo through the hall before he rose up from his throne to his full height. One eye glinting as his stern brow narrowed in face of the other.

            "Please, son. Describe your definition of harmless to me. I have time."

            // For real! I love mythology too! And I wanted to play with the concepts of just how much Odin is capable of, since he is a god with many titles, hehe.
