I saw the first Star Wars movie as a Freshman in High School. My friends and I saw the next Star Wars ( The Empire Strikes back) movie when I was a Senior in High School. Back then, if I ever wrote a fictional story I would erroneously make the character too powerful. It was very discouraging.
Around 2002 I started playing a Multiplayer game called Star Wars Galaxies. With this game I invented Serna Akebe. The last name was generated by the game. The main characters's first name, Serna, was something I came up with after watching the British series called 'Sharpe's Rifles'.
The Spanish actress who played 'The Needle' was Assumpta Serna. I guess 'Serna' is really supposed to be a Spanish surname, so I was a little ignorant back then to make the decision to use it as a female's first name.
I started several stories involving Serna. By accident I thought it would be funny to give Serna a daughter. At the time I named her Cat. Later on I changed it to Katt. What I had not realized at the time was the fact writers use that name for a character way too much!
I started playing Star Wars The Old Republic three or four years ago. Of course I've patiently grinded out a Four or Five versions of Serna, a couple of Katt characters, three Jakk Sollocks. I even created a Jakktu Sollock character: Serna's grandson.
Although I had more than one writing project in the works, the "Trouble Finds Katt" story accidentally evolved into an ending. I have re-written that thing almost 30 times and I continue to find issues with certain parts. I tried to add photo art to help.
Presently I'm putting focus on a story that describes Serna's beginnings: How did she meet Jakk? What would the Jedi Council think of her relationship with this man? Would she be expelled?
I'll have to piece it together and make it interesting for the reader.
