No wonder she felt the need to warn people." The girl's gaze was hardened and cold, looking far too mature for her age. Something...something had happened to this young teen. Something that had made her colder than the air that surrounded them.

            loki internally cursed the stick that'd crunched under his foot -- why did things always go sideways whenever he most wanted them not to? loki, perhaps a bit surprisingly, hadn't approached angrboda with the intention of watching her do magic... but as soon as he saw what she was capable of, he was interested in doing so. and that's how he ended up trying to hide behind a tree, but got the other's attention instead. loki exhaled deeply in annoyance at simply being called the youngest, " my / name / is loki. and what do you mean, ' she? ' are you talking about my mother? " 

he seemed more than happy to humour them. after all, he shared so willingingly that it would feel like an insult not to do the same in return. but he was glad to share. it wasn't every day a god asked you personal questions. to be so casual in conversation with someone far lover in the sense of power and experience. it is an opportunity ge hoped to make last. " I would have to say for a spell it is to travel to a different plane. though, it is too risky to do alone and far too dangerous to really use much at all. " a small portal, but only he may use it. very finicky, to say the least. " though, I guess you're not surprised to know our skill lies in wild shape and healing. " he would give a soft laugh at the other question. one he seemed to get often. " yes, many have wondered, and I am sad to say that I don't have a real answer. maybe, somewhere down the bloodline, there was a half-orc involved. but I sadly don't know. " it was possible he was just born this way too, though he made it clear it was only himself that was like this. probably having given the same answer so many times before. a kindness this was. the druid seemed glad to share and more than happy to help. even with the legends and bad things said. he seemed like the type to judge for himself rather than told tales, regardless if they were true or not. " I would be happy to help. and please, I doubt that could happen. the energy alone around you is far more lively than I thought. so, if anything, you have already surpassed what I could think up. " he didn't mind flaws. in fact, he welcomed them. it made gods more honest and able to connect. more balanced. even if most didn't share his opinion on the matter.

            when it comes to loki, confidence was something that he was certainly not lacking in. and this could be both a blessing as well as a curse. spilling all of the details of your ancestry wasn't something that was generally advised amongst the aesir, but then again, loki always liked to take risks; some more dangerous than others. a content smile spread across his marred lips as the other spoke up, " ahh. you ought to show me your most impressive spell sometime, then, halsin. not for critiquing but simply because i haven't had the pleasure of meeting a druid yet. are you all naturally tall, or is it just you? and i'd greatly appreciate it if you were to guide me in the right direction, " for a moment, loki thought about how accurately this man reflected the idea of a nature spirit: he was down-to-earth (no pun intended) and seemed caring enough. but when it was mentioned that he knew he was a god, no fear flashed in his eyes. not to say that loki was counting on it -- it just denoted that there might be something more to him than meets the eye, " don't apologize. it's nice to be wondered about. though, i have to warn you that if you do wish to ask me questions... you must be prepared for the possibility that i may not live up to the image you have built of me in your head. " he was a flawed being, is what he was really trying to say. loki / was / prone to causing trouble.

            his admissions and honesty was not what he had expected. to so proudly state you are a god was a wonder itself. of course he knew of him. many druids do. the god who could change freely. said to be one of the first to gift the magic of wildshape onto mortals. he couldn't help but feel so honoured and overwhelmed by awe. managing to snap out of it before it became rude of him. he was asked a few questions and he was more than glad to answer. " I am halsin, a druid that lives in the grove not far from here. me and my people look after these lands. so, if there is something you are looking for we can help you locate it. " a kind and hardened spirit this one. not even afraid knowing the truth. It is his endless need to explore and learn that has made him so emboldened. he had so many questions, ones he managed to contain for the time being. " forgive me. I am sure gods are used to the wonder and curiosity you bring to people. " in his 350 years of life, this was the first time he met a god like this. spoke to one right in front of him.

            " are you really trying to lie to me?" The disbelief was ever so present in her voice as she leaned against the door, putting her own back against it as well, almost unintentionally exactly mirroring him. " It's not a good look, you know that?" She sighs audibly and rolls her eyes. astrid knew what had happened, well, for the most part anyway. she knew he got hurt and that he was bleeding, meaning he likely was fighting someone, friendly or not. beyond that, she had no idea.

            as clever and cunning as loki was, there wasn't enough time for him to put a glamor over his injury when he spotted astrid in his home. so he had covered it with a hand and hope for the best. he turned to face away from his sister as he walked -- or, should i say ran past her -- but it seemed like the damage had already been done. god dammit ... loki ducked into the bathroom quickly before pushing his back against the door. all the while, he tried to come up with some excuse for why he was putting a hand over his eye, but he could only come up with one. she'd already seen the blood so he couldn't just downright lie to her about it, " it's nothing. i've just got a bit of a flesh wound, astrid ! don't worry about me. you know how serious those asgardians can get about their sparring. "
