I can try to give Thomas Astruc (and by extension the Chloe haters in that regard) the benefit of the doubt that there some people who don't want to change (which fair) but when it comes to Chloe, then it's just done poorly, because it falls apart when other characters who have done far more worse things than her (Felix did the same thing, if not worse in that regard and got forgiven, André her father is somehow the victim, Ivan's father gets a second chance despite being a criminal with no redeeming qualities, Emil was xenophobic and racist towards and is forgiven and likes french fries, not counting Gabriel even though Marinette forgave him) get redeemed with no effort or feel guilt or remorse for their actions.
It's one of my biggest gripes when it comes to redemption arcs in MLB, they treat redemption arcs as get out of jail free cards without giving them consequences or meaningful growth.
Is it possible for people to repent for their sins? Yes, it is, but you have to go on a long road to improve and change, while having to hmforgive yourself and those who you have hurt. (At least to me).
