That said, I also think it's important to remember that art isn't only about recognition. Recognition is wonderful, but your relationship with your own work matters too. What do you feel when you read your own story? Are you proud of it? Do you enjoy writing it? Those feelings matter just as much as the opinions of readers.

As for me, I'm currently watching MHA and I'm on Season 6. Honestly, I'm a little scared to go beyond that, so updates to my story may be slow. I'm taking my time because I want to understand the characters and events better so I can write them in a way that feels right (Anime and/or manga accurate). The overall plot of my story is already mostly finalized in my head; now it's just a matter of bringing it to life chapter by chapter.

Something else I'd like you to consider is this: try imagining yourself three months, six months, or even a few years after you've completed your story. There may be readers in the future who haven't discovered it yet. Someone could stumble across your work months from now and absolutely love it. Stories often find their audience when we least expect it.

It's completely okay to feel discouraged sometimes. What you're feeling right now is real and valid. But I encourage you to think about why you're continuing your story. Is it only for recognition, or is it because you genuinely care about the story you're creating? Do you want to see how much your writing can grow? Do you want to develop your creativity and explore your ideas?

If the answer is yes, then keep going.

Do it because you love it. You are the narrator.
