"Why not?! You're working harder than most, so I don't see why a free lunch isn't in order." Maes was happy he didn't fight him on this for once. He was always too busy. But, now he had a chance to treat him! For all the help he'd given and even all the advances him and his brother has made.

            "you're  buying  me  lunch?"   ed  rose  an  eyebrow  before  he  gave  a  wide  smirk  and  hopped  up  to  his  feet.   "awesome!   how'd  you  know  i  was  hungry?"   the  kid  joked,   patting  his  stomach  in  a  playful  manner.   then  he  started  to  walk  past  hughes  and  towards  the  door,   his  hands  in  his  pockets.   it  was  probably  good  al  wasn't  there;   sometimes  ed  worried  that  al  might  get  jealous  or  sad  watching  people  eat.   

"Be glad you aren't working for me then! But, I'm about to go out for some luck. Want to come with? There's a nice Cafe right on this block." He definitely wanted to at least give them time to relax. These boys worked harder than a lot of people, and it felt a bit wrong. Not that he could blame their reasons. After all they went through he can understand why a fire was lit under them. "Come on! My treat."

            at  greed's  words,   and  then  that  nudging  of  his,   edward  tensed  up  and  did  his  best  to  / not /  fumble  forwards.   he  refused  to  get  any  closer  to  that  prince.   his  golden  eyes  widened  and  then  he  glared  at  the  homunculus.   the  red  tint  to  his  cheeks  was  unlikely  to  go  unnoticed.   "what  the  / hell /  are  you  talking  about?   i  don't  look  at  him  any  sort  of  way!"   he  whispered  loudly  and  quickly.   had  he  been  staring  again?   shit!

            "A hug goes both ways doesn't it?" Al responded a little playfully. "I'm fine Ed. Don't worry. I have the best big brother in the world, and we have all the friends we made along the way." If he could smile at that moment he would have. Looking at his brother with reassurance that everything will be alright. But Al didn't know that for sure and he wasn't about to lie to Ed about something like this... "We just have to find strength in what we have." Al watched Ed, standing perfectly still. Not wanting to accidentally hurt him in some way. He pictured himself hugging his brother with his own body. There was a moment of silence before small mewls could be heard from inside Al's hollow chest cavity.

            edward...   wasn't  being  himself?  a  moment  passed  and  he  looked  down  at  his  automail  hand.   he  clenched  it  into  a  loose  fist  before  opening  it  back  up.   his  golden  eyes  fluttered  shut,   the  smile  dropping  down  into  a  frown.   the  elder  stayed  quiet,   letting  al  say  what  he  had  to  say.   "al---"   the  alchemist  started,   but  he  was  caught  off  guard  by  the  hug  he'd  been  given.   it  made  his  eyes  widen  in  surprise.   despite  al's  body  being  made  of  metal  and  not  being  comfortable  by  any  means,   he  leaned  into  the  hug  and  put  an  arm  around  his  brother's  bigger  frame.   "thanks,   al.."   he  whispered  and  squeezed  his  eyes  shut  again.   he  kept  his  head  against  the  suit  of  armour's  chest.   "i  feel  like  i  should  be  the  one  comforting  / you /."   he  joked  softly.

            "It's kinda hard not to worry when your not being yourself. You don't have to do everything alone you know? I know you said your fine so I'm not going to bug you about it too much." Al watches his brother carefully. He knew his brother to well to see that his actions didn't match with his words." Your not alone in this. And I'm always going to be there for you, like your always here for me. No matter what happens between us I know that will always stay the same! Don't try to force yourself to be happy. That will only cause make things worse." Al tried his best to encourage his elder brother in the best way he could. He hated how his brother thought he could do everything by himself. If it always been like that they wouldn't have made it as far as they have today. He wondered what changed. Al leaned down and hugged his brother has gently as he could. "You don't have to hide anything from me Ed. No matter what you say or do doesn't change the fact that your always going to be my older brother and I'm not going to stop caring for you no matter what happens."
