Do you have any tips for writing a good ff?

@Lillies222 Hi there! I wouldn't consider myself an expert at writing fanfics or any other story, but I can tell you what helped me a lot while writing: 1. Keeping a note document with all major plot lines to include in the story. A general outline of how you want it to go, beginning to end. As you write, you will most likely make changes and deviate from your initial outline. Take note of these changes so that your story remains coherent and free from major plot holes. 2. Dictionaries (online or physical). This helped me a lot to find synonyms or antonyms for words so it doesn't get too repetitive. Also good for looking up expressions and finding descriptors for various emotions and situations. 3. Using the books and movies as a reference (for HP). I've read the books and watched the movies countless times, but nothing serves better than having them in front of you when writing certain scenes. I followed the plotline of the books thoroughly (I did keep some iconic scenes from the movies, though!) 4. Take inspiration from other authors - without plagiarising, of course! Reading other stories and fanfics will help give you ideas. 5. Keep the verbal tense consistent. For HP, most writers will use the past tense, it's what was used in the books and it's easier for storytelling. So if you use the past tense for narration, keep using it throughout the whole story. Avoid using the present or future tense, unless it's for dialogue or a character's thoughts. That's about all I can think of! I've read the two chapters you have up and they're quite good :) Good luck and have fun, fellow author!

@HJPsQuill The seperation between Harry and Y/N in sixth year was the hardest to read to be honest but I love it. It took a while to get used to the gender change though.

@Fawkes7567 Honestly, one of the biggest reasons is my love for the HP universe and Harry himself. Also, reading other HJP fanfics inspired me to write my own. I always daydreamed of what my life would be like at Hogwarts, which also motivated me to write! Thank you for reading and supporting my work <33

Fear not, I will be posting another epilogue chapter soon, I've just been extra busy the past weeks, so I still haven't gotten around to writing it yet... But I'm not abandoning it :)
