Okay, so I assume that most Sanders Sides fans have seen the newest episode?
I’m just gonna share my thoughts on the controversy now and be done with it. If you’ve been around for awhile you’ll know I actively roleplay sanders sides aus with my friends and once had a book about it.
So. First about the use of the term ‘info dump.’
Thomas has already apologised for his use of the term and not knowing which communities it can refer to or offend. As someone who literally might have ADHD, I don’t find the term offensive at all. I find it quite relatable actually, as I tend to criticise myself for being too much of an ‘info dumper.’
Then about the name of Virgil’s jam. ‘Cranic attack.’ When I watched the video, I found it a funny, relatable name for a jam for the side that literally encompasses anxiety. They’re meant to be relatable to the characters, but I do understand why some people take offence to it as I’ve been told how awful panic attacks are to endure, but I’m not gonna let that ruin my view of a fandom I’ve been part of for three years.
I don’t understand how some people can look at an honest mistake and the name of a jam themed around a fictional character and be so offended by it that they leave the fandom all together.
Like what??!
Y’all are holding Thomas to far too high of standards, he is a person too at the end of the day, he is allowed to make mistakes. He isn’t perfect, nobody is. Just because he’s a content creator doesn’t mean he is immune from making mistakes. Humans are all flawed beings and Thomas is no exception.
In conclusion, I am not offended or upset at Thomas in any way for making this video, I’ll still be very involved with the fandom as a jam name is not a dealbreaker for me.
Feel free to disagree with me, this is just my outlook on what’s happened and some reactions I’ve seen.
