Not trying to sound mean but when writing stories its BEST to put each person who talks in their own paragraph. It'll read nicer and make the chapters a bit longer. I'll leave an example:
          Not this:
          "What?" I asked rolling my eyes. "NOTHING!" he shouted making both of us laugh. This is the oddest play our teacher wrote!
          
          But this:
          "What?" I asked rolling my eyes.
          
          "NOTHING!" he shouted making us both laugh. This is the oddest play our teacher wrote!
