I write, twisting my experience into different backgrounds and circumstances, finding ways to examine, and grow, and make mistakes that feel like the end of the world until they don't. Because they never are.

My characters are generally smart, and use humour as a safety mechanism or a prism through which to see the world. They are imperfect, and sometimes hurt, and often feel helpless before the circumstances, and hopefully that makes them relateable, because all of it is true, one way of another.

Why write an auto biography, when you can write a bunch of gay boys stumbling through personal crises amidst the world continuously falling apart (2024, anyone? Anyone?!), am I right?

There are some lighter short stories too, because why not.
My fanfiction mostly lives on AO3 under the "hali" handle. I'll be putting original stories here, with maybe a couple of fanfics I am particularly proud of to serve as a lure.
