Hello. This is Hana Yume.
If you are a writer in Wattpad, have some unfinished stories that haven't been updated in a long time, and received an automated message from them reminding the same, please don't panic. Wattpad will not delete/unpublish uncompleted works regardless if it'll take you *years* to finish them. They will only do so if it goes against the community guidelines.
From Gabby, she replied to my inquiry, "This message was to prompt writers to consider if they'd like to leave their work published and ongoing if they are not planning on further updating it. We understand everyone has their own reasons for updating. Not everyone knows of the systems and benefits, and not everyone knows they can mark their story complete, so we want everyone to have that information and decide. The idea is that whenever you're ready, you can always come back to a story or, if you want to alleviate some pressure of knowing a story won't be updated while you're busy, you can unpublish it, putting it in draft until you're ready to resume. When you publish it again, the reads will remain."
I hope that you can all feel assured. If some of your works are on hold, either you're experiencing writer's block or have no intention of continuing it further, it's recommended you either tag your story as "completed" or unpublish it for the time being until you feel comfortable enough to continue.
Thank you. ☺
