I've never been to the states, do tell me about it ahaha. as for the uk i mean obviously the entire uk was built for harry potter (lol) but aside from the dreary weather it's got some cool stuff to be at. i just live in the middle of a countryside lol so not much to do there. scotland's gorgeous though, used to live in edinburgh, there's so much to do and see. i'm actually going to harry potter world in feb!

Rispondi

eternal_solace

@Hanapiko1453 girll, don't worry, i was in the same position as last year, i get it. as for college, idk where you are but i'm in the uk so all i can say is that on your "statement" of sorts, make sure to mention the transferrable skills you got from doing certain activities. listing extracurriculars doesn't have any value in itself. also, if it's related to the subject you wanna study, bonus points! also, absolutely do NOT use AI. in interviews they can test to see whether your voice of writing matching your voice irl, since most people's are like this. you can obv ask for inspiration but definitely don't take it directly from there, since you can't claim the rights to have created it (because chatgpt can plagiarise).

you got this, girl! what subject are you thinking of studying? but there's no pressure to say ofc, i respect that (stay safe online).

Hii! Just here to say how much I adored "See Through Me!" The title is powerful as it explores the prejudice Rei faces due to her shy nature and racial background. I loved all the historical context you seamlessly embedded into the plot and the scene where Rachel and Matthew's parents meet Rei for the first time has stayed with me all day. Your writing style is also very beautiful and clear. I'm curious as to how the story will develop following the Attack on Pearl Harbor! I took American History this year, and the Korematsu v. United States case appeared a lot in my year-end exam and wonder if you plan to include that in your book. Best of luck, Hanna!

@Hanapiko1453 Good luck with developing the rest of the story!

@ashbytheisle Thank you so much! You are too kind lol. Im still in the development of writing this story, but I have been getting such amazing feedbacks as well as compliments. I'm glad you have enjoyed the previous chapters.

Hello!

I will be thoroughly editing chapters of 'See Through Me' every now and then. Also since this is a historical fiction story, I will be writing an authors note for any inaccuracies to important events that I may have made. I will also provide an explanation and list of documents at the end of what I used as inspiration to write this. For example, I have dropped in details from Yuri Kochiyama’s and Takei’s Stories to make it more historically accurate.

Obviously, despite research. It is nearly impossible to add every single event that happened during this time. Some details I will include in my book will not be accurate. If the inaccuracy was done on purpose, I will provide an explanation of why I changed it. For instance, I had to change the date of Old China towns destruction to 1938 instead of 1933. This is merely because I had to accommodate to my characters.

Other than the documents and research I have done, I have relied on my own imagination and experience as a Japanese-American myself.

As a reminder, this is a work of fiction and I am not a professional. Please feel free to make any corrections to details of an event that I may not be aware of.

          Thank you

Hanapiko1453

No, my book has not finished yet. I have been having trouble with finding more documents, so thank you for the extra info.

@Hanapiko1453 I learned recently that the Japanese Americans wrongfully imprisoned had renga parties. I've been trying to get ahold of copies of this shared art but so far I haven't had any luck. Based on the topic of your book, this seemed like it might be something you were interested in. Is your book done?
