Quick cycling in the snow tips from your Dutchie (cycled home in really bad snow yesterday and I didn’t fall!)
1. brake as little as possible, try to lessen speed ahead of time. breaking quickly will make you fall
2. slow down a lot when doing a turn, do this ahead of time.
3. try and be clear where you are going so cars can keep in mind you fall. (show you’re making a turn early on for example)
4. DON’T WALK ON THE CYCLING LANE (my personal pet peeve) (walk on the sidewalk or really on the side of the road, otherwise you are putting people in danger)
5. if you have to move unexpectedly say to avoid someone falling, try doing this slowly/prepare to catch yourself. and if you’re nice, ask if someone needs help
6. if visibility is bad, turn your lights on
stay safe!
