I stood in front of the idol of my Guruvayurappan after what honestly felt like an eternity. What seemed like an eternity now seemed just like a few moments. After all, was it so easy to reach him? Suddenly, the bustling temple went all silent. The chants of "Krishna, Guruvayurappa," all stopped, and it seemed like time itself had frozen. Gulping hard, I tried to move, and yes, I could move. I saw everybody, my entire family of five members, including me, though except me, frozen behind me. My amma was holding my hand delicately as I looked at the idol of the Lord, whose twinkling eyes gazed upon me with that smile oh so mischievous of his. "What have you done, Hari?" I whispered, as I felt him winking at me. "Oh Mahadev. You are impossible."
"I know, my dear." I heard the most soothing and melodious voice, with a depth and tint to it as rare as ever. Never, in my entire lifetime, had I heard such a beautiful voice that was soothing like a melody, yet dangerous to the evil forces.
"Wh-who?" I began, but a hand held my other hand gently. Snapping my head around, I saw, yes, I saw the most divine sight ever. There stood my Guruvayurappan, my Narayana, holding that flute of his in one hand and  had the abhaya mudra in the other. .
"Nde Krishnaa, Nde Guruvayurappa," I called in utter joy as I almost dragged my amma with me. Hari held my other hand gently as his free hand stroked my hair gently.
"Coming here after so long, are we?" he asked as I nodded. , don't you want to see me". he asked, his voice teasing, large, expressive lotus eyes gazing at me with curiosity.
"Oh, that? Well, um, " I stuttered as he laughed joyously. I joined in the laughter as he advanced a little closer toward me.
"Tell me, what do you want?"
"Prabhu," I began, my voice trembling in joy, "just bless this universe to stay happy always. Also, oh hari,  please bless my family to have a healthy and happy life. For me, I want nothing, oh lord, just I want you by our side, always."
