Writing a novel is like driving a car at night. You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way. - E.L. Doctorow

I have been a member of FictionPress for over 10 years and FanFiction for about a year longer than that. I only joined FictionPress because the FanFiction site was down for a few days. At the time, I never would have believed that I would be still going strong on FictionPress and not on FanFiction. It's been over six years since I've uploaded anything on FanFiction and I finished at 102 stories, which I feel is pretty solid. That was about the time I signed up for NaNoWriMo and made the switch to fiction full-time. I joined WattPad when FictionPress began to slow down, but I still upload on both.

I started out strong in science fiction, then a little fantasy, but lately I've migrated to writing contemporary. I'm trying to get back into regularly uploading and making more of a presence on this site. We'll see how it goes. I have several projects from NaNoWriMo and Camp NaNoWriMo that I have not published yet.

I was in middle school when I joined these sites. Now, I am a high school intervention specialist. Back then, I never believed I would teach high school. I've always wanted to teach elementary, but I've found a home in the high school setting for now. Who knows what the future holds!

So, yeah. Welcome! You can call me Dana. That was the name of one of my favorite roleplaying characters when I first started, so that's the screen name I've adopted. I'll always thank you for a review. Let's see where this journey takes us!
