Wow, how much can I say about the new movie.
I mean, sure, it was a movie, and that fact can't be changed. In fact, the overwhelming obstacle in the path of our favorite novelist was the reason why I was (though enthusiastic) slightly afraid that the new movie would be a horrible bust.
It wasn't. J.K. Rowling somehow worked her magic- creating dynamic characters, a conflicting good and evil, an awesome plot out of nearly nothing.
And the soundtrack- as I violinist (beginning violinist- I only have three years) and a HUGE lover of music- I am a total sucker for any and all orchestral soundtracks. Those who are like me, Shindler's list also has Itzhak Perlman solos.
But too the point- it was not a horrible branch off movie- it was an extension to the Harry Potter universe, something I (unlike most of my friends) never let myself hope for.
But I was pleasantly surprised.
I'd have to give it a rating of 9 and 3 quarters-
