I'd like to make a rant real quick, mostly about gatekeeping and witchtok.
I've seen many people making fun of people on witchtok, especially ones who make posts about their more casual relationships with their deities. now, while witchtok can be problematic and share misinformation, that doesnt give you the right to say that someone's relationship with a deity is wrong and most likely with a trickster.
my view on it is this: you have to work towards having that kind of relationship with a deity. some deities might be easier to have that relationship with while others might prefer more seriousness. for example, while a person might be very casual with Dionysus, they're very serious with Hecate. (I'm just using them as an example based on what I've heard-) deities interact with people differently, so dont bash people for a relationship that's probably been built.
with that said, always treat deities with respect no matter how casual your relationship. they're not here to be sexual with you or be your BFF, they're here to more or less guide you. while yes, some deities will want to talk to you about things in your life, (ex. mental health) they're most likely bringing it up to help you. so, treat them with respect!
