          After reading it, I think the story has been circling around in my head, because yesterday I woke up with a story in my head that uses a lot of the same elements. I've put it up in my big book of unused ideas, with a recommendation for the story you posted in case anyone wants to see the original. I feel like I should check if that's okay with the original author too; but it looks like that's not so easy this time.
