@BrianGeller I get where you're coming from, and I'm sorry you're not happy with that plot point. I get escapism is one of the main points of fiction, but in my experience, people tend to consider unrealistic events plot holes, and those can take people out of a story pretty quickly.
I'm sorry you're not enjoying that aspect of the story, but unless I spend a lot of time rewriting the story in my head, I can't do anything about that. I would also have to chainge an already existing chapter to the point it'd be less work to just delete it and start over. It's not that the therapist is trying to separate you permanently, instead they're trying to put healthy distance between the two of you. How successful that is remains to be seen.
If it really ruins the experience for you, I urge you to read something else. I'd be sad to lose a reader, but there's no point in you being miserable from reading my stuff. This stuff is just entertainment, and if you're not entertained, then there's no point in putting yourself through that.
