Hi @Historyisprettycool! I loved the life story of Anne Frank that you wrote.
I'm working on a fanfiction series set in an alternate universe, where historical events and figures are reimagined in a fictional context. This story blends superhero elements with historical fiction, exploring 'what if' scenarios. In this new 'what if' narrative, the Holocaust is prevented and many lives are saved by the end of the war.
In this AU, Anne Frank and other historical figures, including Elie Wiesel, are reimagined as characters with unique experiences and roles. (Elie Wiesel plays a significant role in the story and I'm mindful of honoring his legacy and experiences as a Holocaust survivor) My goal is to honor the spirit of Anne's story while exploring new narrative possibilities.
It combines the themes and elements of the French animated TV show, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir (although it's primarily aimed at a younger audience, it's a show known for tackling complex issues like bullying. This blend enables me to explore mature themes, such as bullying, in a unique and impacful way. On a personal note, I've also woven in my Italian grandparents' and great-aunt's experiences as teenagers living in Europe during WWII.)
Would you be willing to provide feedback on my story's sensitivity and appropriateness, considering its AU setting?
Specifically:
- Do you feel my story respects Anne's values and legacy, despite the fictionalized context?
- Are there any aspects that might be considered insensitive or misrepresentative?
Thank you for your time and insight.
