Hi, folks!

Coming out of the woodwork to keep you updated. I haven't stopped writing, quite the opposite. I am currently going into editing mode for Plaything and We Are Monsters so I can push for publishing again. While I do this, I've been writing and posting actively under another pen name, doing much, much darker, more niche material. I wouldn't call it romance, but I would call it spicy. Anyway, if that's something you read and you recognize my style, there's a good chance you're spot on.

I don't want to edit in patches, leaving you with broken up stories that may not make sense as a result during the process. I'll be printing a physical copy of Plaything this weekend for proper pen-to-paper editing, as I did with We Are Monsters about eight years ago when I wrote that hot mess of a first draft that was only supposed to be for me, to practise and to heal. Here we are now! Anyway, I'll keep you updated as I edit. It doesn't take me terribly long to do and I won't be drastically changing anything. I take my time with my writing to avoid fluff and nonsense that need removing later. I'll be cleaning up spelling and grammar, checking continuity, perspective consistency, that sort of thing. The end result should be a much more polished second draft which I will then send out to agents, and post here for your enjoyment! When I do, I'll let you know c:

Thank you for sticking with me, and I appreciate your support wholly! I have to focus for a bit on the darker stuff, as I've tickled something in my brain much like We Are Monsters and Plaything did in the early stages. That said, I'm keeping it separate from here, for the sake of readers sensitive to dark horror content. If you enjoy spicy horror, and you want to check it out or just continue supporting my work, reach out on my Bluesky (hollandweathers.bsky.social) and I'll send you a link.

Would love to see a Part 2 of Plaything if that is still something you are interested in writing.

KingHadesx

Sounds interesting. I’ll definitely be sure to give it a read. Thank you

@KingHadesx Merry Christmas! We Are Monsters is my first complete novel and has a full length sequel, a novella, and another full length sequel in the works (taking a long time, it's much more complex than my prior works.)

It's a slow-burn cozy-thriller/romance. Plaything is actually set in the world of We Are Monsters (WAM) but is a standalone. I will be introducing vampires in the next novel of WAM (after Moon Magic) using the established Plaything lore! Might even do a crossover for funsies c:

That’s awesome to hear. I plan on taking a read of some of your other stories in the meantime. Any personal recommendations? Also merry Christmas.

Okay, I'm caught up on reading Moon Magic and its predecessors, I'm about to open my laptop and start writing the next chapter of Moon Magic. Act II is just starting, it's no wonder I had trouble continuing before. I'm ready now. Sorry for the long wait!

PS: I forgot how much I love Dishonoured (Aidan's POV), it's easily my favourite but most readers skip it.

Some news about «We Are Monsters | gxg»!

First, Wattpad and WattpadExplorer added the novel to the reading list Reading Radar! I'm so pumped, I can barely contain myself c:

Also, I just finished hand-drawing the new cover for the novel. Check it out and let me know what you think! I'll be returning to Moon Magic soon and continuing the series. I'd love to hear what you think will/want to happen!

Chapter 1 of my new novel, Spellkeeper | gxg, is up!

Melody is a Spellkeeper, a minder of a library of magical tomes collected by her fellow witches and preserved for future generations. She protects the Necronomicon amongst her collection above all else. It holds the delicate balance of the world in its pages.

So when Briar arrives one afternoon and spots it, Melody panics. Faced with a life-changing decision, will she make the right one, or is she putting the Necronomicon into the wrong hands?
