I watched the sunrise yesterday, from the roof of my house. As I was sitting there, legs held against my chest, a bee landed on my knee. My eyes were drawn to it, the way its abdomen pulsed while examining the ridges of my jeans. Then it was gone, flying off on its bouncy course to elsewhere. By the time I looked up, I'd missed it.
